Our Logo
At Bethany, Jesus found a place to rest. It was for him a place of love, where he felt at home among his friends.
In
the ministry logo, the heart which enfolds the women, speaks of a
ministry founded in and embraced by the love of Christ for His beloved.
The gentle care and concern of one woman for another is expressed in a
protective, sheltering posture - there is a sense of intimacy and unity
between the women. One woman reflects Mary: our healed and whole
selves, filled with goodness, purity and gentleness - the other, each of
us in our brokeness and pain.
The
droplets are sorrows and tears; they are Christ's blood shed by his
sacrifice on the Cross; they are perfumed oil used for healing and
burial. As we invite Christ more deeply into our lives, we lay to rest
our broken, wounded selves and we embrace healing and new life.
As
our lives are transformed into the likeness of Christ, we are able to
reach out in love to those around us. We see that we do not live in
isolation, but in intimate relationships of giving and receiving, of
death and resurrection.
